1. Is it really free to advertise my business on Kent Small Business?
Yes. You can create and keep a Free business listing on Kent Small Business without paying. Premium is completely optional and simply gives you extra features and more visibility.
2. What do I get with a Premium listing?
Premium gives you extra ways to showcase your business, including a photo gallery, price list, services, opening times, map, tagline, custom colours, customer testimonials, direct enquiries, detailed analytics, up to 10 search keywords and higher priority in relevant searches. Premium listings also do not show Related Businesses on their profile.
3. How much does Premium cost?
Premium costs £12.99 per month or £129 per year. The annual option saves you £26.88 compared with paying monthly for 12 months, which works out at the equivalent of £10.75 per month when paid annually.
4. Will my Free listing stay free if I don't upgrade?
Yes. Free listings will remain free and you do not need to upgrade to Premium to stay listed on Kent Small Business.
5. Will Premium put my business at the top of search results?
Yes, for relevant searches. Premium listings appear at the top when the search matches your business and location. For example, if you are a plumber in Maidstone, your Premium listing can appear at the top for searches such as “plumber”, “plumber in Maidstone” or simply “Maidstone”.
If there are several relevant Premium businesses in the same town and category, they are rotated at the top daily so the same business is not always shown first.
The main exceptions are postcode searches, which are ordered strictly by distance, and searches for a different town, where businesses in that location are more relevant to the customer.
6. Can I cancel Premium at any time?
Yes. You can cancel Premium at any time. Your listing will stay Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again after that.
7. What happens to my listing if I cancel Premium?
Your listing will return to a Free listing once your paid Premium period ends. Premium-only features will stop being displayed, but your Premium content will be kept while your Free listing remains active, so it can be restored if you upgrade again later.
8. Can I have Premium on just one of my business listings?
Yes. Premium is purchased per listing, so you can choose exactly which of your listings you want to upgrade. You do not have to make every listing on your account Premium.
9. Can my Premium listing appear in more than one county?
Yes. If your business genuinely serves areas covered by other Kent Small Business county websites, your Premium profile and Premium features can appear there too. Your main Premium search priority applies in your home county, based on your business postcode, although you may still appear highly in other areas where you are relevant or close to the postcode being searched.
10. Does Premium mean Kent Small Business recommends my business?
No. Premium is a paid listing upgrade and does not mean that Kent Small Business has verified, approved or recommended the business. Customers should always carry out any checks they feel are appropriate before using a business.
